Good morning friends! I posted a few of my work from home tips on my stories last week as I have been working from home for a few years now and it got such a great response I thought I would make a blog post about it and go into better detail!
Working from home can feel like a treat sometimes but also can be difficult to navigate when you are highly stressed and feel your productivity levels plummet. Don’t fret! You got this!! See below for my top tips for doing your best work while you are at home, and after that I have a link to my Amazon Shop where I list all of the office items I keep around me to help me stay organized and brighten my day.
CREATE YOUR WORKSPACE:
Decide where your work space in your home will be, if possible choose somewhere with a table and chairs (desk, kitchen table, etc) Then clean your up that work space and prepare it with everything you will need. Having a clean space will declutter your mind, and help you create a calm and relaxing work environment.
DEVELOP A MORNING ROUTINE:
Once your brain gets into a routine, it can help you get into your “work mode” mindset. I start my work days at home with my morning coffee, a light stretch and a quick shower.
WRITE IT OUT:
When working from home I always write out a schedule for the day and my to-do list to keep me on track. Check out my Amazon Shop for the cute planners and notepads I use.
Sitting in your PJ’s all day can seem like the most comfortable move, but getting dressed, doing your hair, and even putting on a little makeup can make you feel WAY more productive.
TURN THE TV OFF, MUSIC ON:
As tempting as it is to have the TV on, even if only in the background, make sure you turn it off so you can concentrate! Instead create a relaxing playlist that you can listen to while you work.
Open a window or your blinds to get some fresh air / natural light.
It took me years to figure out I needed to do this! I would just work all day until I realized the sun was down. Breaks are essential to your brain functioning well, make sure you get up, move your body, eat something and hydrate!
