THE GATES HOTEL KEY WEST

This past winter was a tough one for everyone living on the East Coast of America. Thats why I was over the moon when I was invited to stay at the chic new boutique hotel in Key West called, The Gates. I put the trip on my calendar right away and began to count down the days till I could grab by bestie Natalie and fly down to Key West!

We took a suuuuper early flight (complete with 6am in flight bloody marys) so we could have a full day at The Gate’s huge palm tree lined pool. We arrived at hotel exhausted from traveling but were soon revived by a lovely welcome by the hotel staff, checking into our gorgeous spacious room and a dip in the blue water.

We were starving so we couldn’t wait to try the hotels “Blind Pig” food truck that is permanently parked next to their outdoor bar, Rum Row. We ordered fish of the day tacos, parmesan glarlic fries and the goats cheese salad. All of it was simply delicious but I have to say that was the clear winner was the taco, it was the BEST fish taco I have ever had in my life. I swear. I could have eaten 10. The food was perfectly complimented by the refreshing cocktails, special mention for the pimento grilled cheese too which we ordered each day we were there.

Over the next 3 days we had the best time hanging by the pool and making trips into town to explore (more on that later). I knew I would like Key West but didn’t know I would totally fall for the island! I felt a overwhelmingly relaxed and friendly vibe down there which was carried out at The Gates.

If you are planning a getaway soon and are thinking of places to go, check out The Gates and Key West. If you’re a fan of palm trees, sunshine, amazing food and good vibes you will love it, and honestly who isn’t.

I have had a few people message me and ask me about my trip/ traveling to Key West, feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I love chatting about traveling.

Thank you so much to The Gates for an unforgettable stay!

      Hi Susan,
We stayed 3 nights, but wish we could have stayed the week! Its super easy to get around Key West, you can walk or bike most places. And the taxi’s are plentiful if youre going further or need to get home at night.

Thanks for your post! I first saw your fab Instagram posts while you were there and now so glad I saw the full post. My fiancé and I have booked a long weekend at The Gates for a break before our wedding 🙂
