SALLY LAPOINTE FW14

The Sally LaPointe FW14 show took place in dark and dramatic underground space away from Lincoln Center, only lit by the bright bulbs on a far wall behind a large metal scaffolding like structure. When we found our seats, each had a copy of Charles Bukowski’s poem “Bluebird” waiting for us, the scene was certainly set. As I read the last line of the poem the lights dimmed and like a bird out of a cage the first look of the collection was coming down the runway full force.

The collection was a hard and soft mix of beautifully designed pieces. From black tuxedo pants to slouchy knits to deep colored lambskin. My favorites where the rough texture bomber jackets, expertly cut sleek coats and bluebird printed evening wear with pleated bodices. The collection was tough yet ultra feminine, looks for the new power woman.
