Collaboration: Floral Picnic

My friend Caroline Lacey and I decided to throw a small intimate picnic for a few friends to make the most of the warm summer days and the beautiful open spaces we are lucky enough to live close to. Instead of going to a big chain store and buying decorations we thought we would challenge ourselves to each only spend $15 on decorative materials bought at thrift stores.
We chose a floral theme and filled our shopping carts with vintage floral fabric, fake flowers, old lace curtains, flower printed tea cups and saucers, wicker baskets and much more, paying careful attention to the budget. Then during one or two fun wine filled DIY nights we crafted pom pom strings and mod-podged plates, creating all the little things that would make our picnic extra special. On the perfectly overcast day we all gathered on the island of floral fabrics, snacked on a delicious fresh array of food and enjoyed each others wonderful company and conversation.
Caroline and I would like to thank NAMI Thrift Store for their help and ever changing world of thrifting treasures. And thank you to Carla and Marshall, Oliver, MonicaCarlis and others who joined us, see you all at the next one. I am off to brainstorm themes.
